Blender add-on
Free · Version 1.0.1 · Blender 4.2 or later · Download PolyReducer-Blender.zip
Send meshes from Blender to PolyReducer with one click. When you're done, drag the reduced file onto Blender's 3D view – only the geometry is replaced. Names, transforms, modifiers and materials stay where they are.
How it works
1. Send
Select your meshes and click Send to PolyReducer in the sidebar. They're saved as OBJ without applying modifiers and open in PolyReducer.
2. Reduce
Choose how much to keep and save the result.
3. Drop back
With the same meshes selected, drag the saved file onto the 3D view and choose Replace geometry of selected. Or click Replace Geometry in the sidebar.
What stays
Object names, position, rotation and scale, parents, modifiers, animation and materials – including which material each face uses. Only the mesh changes: vertices, faces, UVs and normals. Objects are matched by name, so you can replace many at once. Vertex groups and shape keys can't travel through OBJ or GLB, so the reduced mesh has none. Ctrl Z undoes the replacement.
Install
1. Download PolyReducer-Blender.zip. 2. Drag the zip file into the Blender window, or choose Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions → ⌄ → Install from Disk. 3. Press N in the 3D view and open the PolyReducer tab.
Questions
Is the add-on free?
Yes. Saving in PolyReducer uses exports as usual: 5 free, then 50 at a time for $14.99.
Which files can I drop back?
OBJ, GLB, glTF and FBX.
Does it need PolyReducer?
Yes, the reducing happens in PolyReducer for Mac. The add-on sends the meshes there and brings the result back.
